Lab 7 - From today's confocal tutorial, identify an advantage to using each of the following objectives: Air, Water or Oil. AIR: The simplest method to use. WATER: Most cell cultures are grown in aqueous solution so it suits many cultures. Furthermore, it has better resolving power than air. OIL: Highest resolving power (but only for fixed samples).

  • Great use of pictures to break up the text! (keeps me interested)
  • Great structure- flows nicely!
  • Work needs to be proof-read (theres a few grammar mistakes etc. that others have highlighted)
  • Looks like some of the referencing is missing e.g. development section.
  • With the timeline, putting the dates in bold might make it more visually appealing? just an idea.
  • A glossary could be a nice finishing touch!

Group 2 Project - RNA Interference--Erika Unsworth 23:13, 11 May 2010 (UTC) Overall, I'm very very impressed with this page!

  • It was interesting to read
  • It flows very well- great structure!
  • Great use of formatting
  • The student-drawn diagram is amazing- clear & visually appealing!
  • The only down-side is that some referencing is missing e.g. in the mechanism section.

  • Good amount of content
  • Easy to understand
  • Student-drawn diagrams are very helpful
  • Great use of tables and formatting
  • Referencing needs to be fixed- the first image isnt referenced and some references aren't cited properly in the final reference list e.g. websites.

  • Lots of referencing missing- glossary & within the bulk of the text.
  • I really like the helpful links section- unique touch!
  • Good structure and formatting.
  • Student-drawn flowchart provides a great overview.
  • Well written- easy for me to understand.

  • Advised that there's a section on wikipedia help that explains how to make a reference list so that the same resource doesn't come up more than once.
  • A glossary might be a nice finishing touch.
  • Great how its applied to efforts at unsw! Very unique!
  • Great use of formatting, pictures and tables.
  • Easy to comprehend content.

  • Need to fix up the referencing- some seem to be missing.
  • Thorough research- looks like plenty of resources were used
  • Content is easy to comprehend

  • Great use of images- I especially like the first black & white image (looks great next to the contents box!)
  • The structure and flow works well
  • I think the history section could be improved by putting the years in bold.

  • Structure is fantastic

  • Plenty of pictures and videos to help
  • Lots of references- looks like lots of research has been done
  • Definitely one of the best I've seen

Lab 9 - Microarray Lab: What is the technological bottleneck common to all next generation sequencing (NGS) platforms?

The technological bottleneck is related to the preparation of libraries (which takes up both a lot of time and resources) Unsworth 06:56, 19 May 2010 (UTC). It also relates to the NGS platforms producing vast quantities of data that the computer systems have difficulty processing in good time.
