This page links to movies demonstrating concepts and findings in Cell Biology.

  • Some of the links will take you to external internet resources.
  • Note that the dynamic nature of the internet may mean some external addresses may change over time.
  • Movies are in MP4 and Quicktime format when available, some may not be supported by all browsers.


The movies fall into 2 main types:

  1. animations designed to demonstrate cell biology concepts (textbooks and education sites).
  2. living cells designed to show dynamic processes in cells (research labs and papers).

How to play the movies:

Page - Opens the movie page with the animation and additional information such as: a description of the movie, additional images, links, references and copyright information.

Play - Opens just the movie in the browser window, no additional information is shown.
