Types of cytoskeletons found in eukaryotes and prokaryotes
This image shows the different types of cytoskeletons found in different types of eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells. Types of cytoskeletons found in eubacteria include FtsZ, MreB, FstA and MinD. The majority of archaea have the FtsZ cytoskeleton.
Most of the eukaryota do not possess the cytoskeletons found in prokaryotic cells. They mainly have cytoskeletons such as actin filaments, dyneins and kinesins.
