High resolution scanning electron microscopy of the nuclear envelope

The Nuclear Envelope is shown with Nuclear Pore Complex baskets. The lattice is labelled L1 and is found around the base of the bulge (B). Lattice such as L2 in the image above can be found on flat area. Some Nuclear Envelope Lattice can also appear rolled up (the arrows).

Original Legend: Nucleoplasmic face of"clean" NE showing NPC baskets, NEL (L1) around base of bulge (B) and on flat area (L2). Some NEL appears rolled up (arrows). NPC baskets are apparent beneath rolled up NEL (arrowheads). Bar = 200 nm.
