The effect of adrenomedulin on insulin secretion
Rat insulinoma cells (INS1) were cultured as an insulin secreting beta cell derived line for the study. These were then exposed to the pancreatic cancer cell lines (PANC1, L3.6, HPAFII, SU86.86), which resulted in an approximate 30% reduction in glucose stimulated insulin secretion compared to the control cell line as adrenomedulin concentration increased.
