Lab 2

This study utilizes confocal microscopy to image the morphological features of mouse lungs in acute pulmonary hypertension in a cryopreserved in vivo state and those in a normal state in a three dimensional manner. Due to the removal of unfocused light by pinholes, confocal microscopy allowed for very high resolution imaging. The 3D images of the mouse lungs provided a thickness of 41.73µm which definitely would be unable to be observed using fluorescent microscope. [1]
