From today's confocal tutorial, identify an advantage to using each of the following objectives: Air, Water or Oil.
Air: Allows for the least preparation.
Water: Overcomes aberration problems. More specifically, the matched refractive index of immersion and sample media makes spherical aberration independent of imaging depth . Allows for application on living tissue and cells.
Oil: It helps cut down on the reflective loss as light goes up through the lens to your eyes. Increases the resolution of a microscope at high magnification.
