About The Project

I began an online version of Cell Biology in 1999 as a simple image of a Cell that was linked to detailed descriptions of key cellular component. The online project was begun to coincide with a new course in Cell Biology and follows on from a similar online/CD project in Embryology that is used within the University of NSW and elsewhere.

There are several other commercial and educational Cell Biology projects, web sites and online Textbooks which I have listed on the Links page.

This current project UNSW Cell Biology is an attempt to give students many entry points to discover Cell Biology. I feel that this current site/resource is an attempt to structure the learning materials in a manner which supports our current undergraduate students and external users with an interest in the topic. It has been extensively updated as an ITET4 Project to coincide with the introduction of the new UNSW Medical Course (2004).
